Texas moves against public Wi-Fi porn

Living in Austin, I keep my eyes open for tech news which invloves the State of Texas. Some of what I run across (just like anywhere else in the world, I suppose) makes me either laugh or cringe -- sometimes I don't know which. An article this morning in The Register, which references a post on Slashdot, outlines a ridiculous bill which is being heard today in the Texas House State Affairs committee that would require the state to filter wireless internet access at highway rest stops. Apparently the Texas legislature has nothing better to debate than the availability of pr0n for truckers and RV jockeys.
