Shareholder group pans Symantec deal
Excerpt from a Reuters newswire story on CNN/Money:
Shareholders should vote against Symantec Corp.'s proposed acquisition of data management software maker Veritas Software Corp., a shareholder advisory group said on Thursday.
"We are unconvinced that there is any great benefit ... in having these two disparate (companies') products under one roof and available for investment in one ticker rather than two," said Glass Lewis & Co. in a statement.
