Network Solutions DNS Outage Affects 120,000 Websites

A broken piece of hardware in Network Solutions' domain name system rendered 120,000 websites unreachable this Monday morning.
The outage lasted one hour and four minutes, ending at 12:44pm Eastern Time, a Network Solutions spokeswoman told vnunet.com. The service disruption was caused by a hardware malfunction in the system that handles domain name requests, but not in the actual DNS server, she added.
