Lockheed to Buy Aspen Systems

Renae Merle writes in The Washington Post:

Lockheed Martin Corp. announced Friday that it would buy Rockville-based Aspen Systems Corp., continuing a consolidation of the local technology sector fueled by traditional weapons makers trying to diversify.

Aspen, an employee-owned firm, focuses on non-Pentagon contracts, including information technology support, designing and maintaining Web sites and managing computer networks for the Justice Department and the Department of Health and Human Services. That's a long way from Lockheed's keystone programs building the F-16 fighter jet and military satellites. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Lockheed buys a company which does IT systems for non-defense government agencies? That seems a bit odd, since just a short while ago Lockheed sold a boatlod of their non-defense related IT consulting to ACS, in exchange for all of ACS' defense related IT consulting.

Will these guys please make up thier minds?
