UK: NTL, Virgin Merger Talks Stalls

Tony Dennis writes in The Inquirer:

TALKS OVER the intended merger between Virgin Mobile and cable operator, NTL, have stalled – according to a report in The Business. The merger would have given NTL the opportunity to offer the infamous 'fourplay' of services – fixed line telephony; broadband Internet; pay TV; and cellular.

However, the man behind the intended deal, Simon Duffy, has now stepped aside as CEO to become executive vice-chairman. His replacement, Stephen Burch, is rumoured to be less interested in the Virgin deal and more interested in the integration with Telewest.
