Verizon Looking to Sell Off Directories Unit

A Reuters newswire article, via Yahoo! News, reports that:

Verizon Communications, the largest U.S. telecoms company, said on Sunday it would look at selling or spinning off its domestic directories publishing unit as it focuses on its wireless, high-speed data and corporate customers.

Verizon, which is buying long-distance phone firm MCI Inc. for $8.6 billion, said it would seek a deal to benefit shareholders, improve financial flexibility and reduce debt.
