DISA Orders AT&T Circuits

Michael Hardy writes on FCW.com:

The Defense Information Systems Agency has ordered circuits from AT&T Government Solutions — 36 secure, high-capacity circuits for about $8.2 million. The orders for the circuits came under a contract called Defense Information Systems Network (DISN) Transmission Services-Continental U.S. Extension, or DTS-CE.

The company will supply private, point-to-point circuits that comprise DISN’s backbone. The network ultimately provides voice and data services to soldiers in the field.

The domestic circuits AT&T provides will carry voice and data traffic, and they will be used for command and control and administrative purposes.
