Trade Commission Rules in Favor of Austin's SigmaTel in Patent Dispute

Via The Austin Business Journal.

The International Trade Commission found that a Chinese semiconductor manufacturer has infringed on two of SigmaTel Inc.'s patents.

The judge concluded that SigmaTel patents 6,633,187 and 6,366,522 were valid and infringed by Actions Semiconductor Co. Ltd.. The ruling recommended barring Actions from importing chips that contain two gigabytes or less of flash memory and certain MP3 players that contain chips based on SigmaTel's technology from being imported into the U.S. The judge's recommendation will now be reviewed by the ITC.
