Deutsche Telekom Gets OK on tele.ring Deal

After a nearly eight-month wait, Deutsche Telekom on Wednesday got the go-ahead from the European Commission and Austrian regulators to acquire tele.ring, Austria's fourth-largest mobile phone operator, for €1.3 billion ($1.6 billion).

A DT subsidiary, T-Mobile Austria, will acquire its competitor, creating an entity with 3.1 million subscribers or roughly 37 percent of the Austrian market.
