Man Gets Probation Over Web Site

An AP newswire article, via The New York Times, reports that:

A man who ran a pornographic Web site that included photographs of war dead taken by American troops was sentenced on Friday to five years' probation, his lawyer said.

The man, Chris Wilson, 28, a former Eagle Lake police officer, pleaded no contest in January to five misdemeanor charges of possession of obscene materials.

Mr. Wilson's Web site gave service members free access to pornography in exchange for posting pictures from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Polk County sheriff's officials said his arrest in October stemmed from the site's sexually explicit content, not the pictures of war dead.
