Questions Persist After Rolling Blackouts Hit Austin

The power is back on Monday night after rolling blackouts all over Texas Monday afternoon.

The questions being asked Monday night are: why were so many people left in the dark, and why didn't anyone know about these blackouts in advance?

That's what everyone wants to know. How can a city the size of Austin be handcuffed by power outages in the middle of the afternoon? The rolling power problems started just after 4 p.m. on Monday, and in the big picture, nobody knew it was coming.

There was no advance warning, and it seems we were all left in the dark.
