BAE Systems Rumored to be Interested in Acquiring CACI

Griff Witte writes in The Washington Post:

Shares of Arlington-based government contractor CACI International Inc. climbed nearly 9 percent yesterday following a report over the weekend that the firm may be bought by British defense giant BAE Systems.

The report, in the London-based weekly the Business, said BAE and CACI have held "informal talks" over the past few months about a possible purchase. BAE, Britain's largest defense contractor, is known to be trying to gain a larger share of the U.S. government's information technology market. CACI was recently ranked by market research firm Federal Sources Inc. as the 13th-largest prime contractor for government IT work.
