Telecom Italia Bids for AOL Units

Telecom Italia SpA has made an initial offer for the French and German ISP assets of AOL LLC, a spokesman for the European carrier confirmed today.More here.
Industry analyst have valued the assets, which together have about 3.6 million customers, including 1 million broadband users in Germany and about 500,000 DSL subscribers in France, at about €700 million (US$880 million).
