University of Texas IT Official Stepping Down

Ralph K.M. Haurwitz writes in The Austin American-Statesman:

Six weeks after a major security breach involving the computer system at the University of Texas was disclosed, UT's vice president for information technology is stepping down.

Dan Updegrove will move into a position at UT focusing on advanced network services for research and education, the university said in a news release issued today.

Updegrove, who is also an adjunct professor in UT's School of Information, has agreed to remain in the vice president position until the university hires a successor.
