PCCW to Buy Mobile Firm for About $200M

An AP newswire article on Yahoo! News reveals that:

Hong Kong's biggest fixed-line operator, PCCW Ltd., said Monday it will buy mobile telecommunications firm Sunday Communications Ltd. for not more than $200 million.

PCCW Chairman Richard Li, son of Hong Kong's richest man, Li Ka-shing, said he hoped to develop Sunday into the territory's "most profitable" wireless phone operator within four to five years, local media reported.

"We're confident that we can turn it into Hong Kong's No. 1 network," Li said in remarks broadcast by local network Cable TV.
