Comcast Gives Customers Security Software

Comcast said Tuesday that it has launched a new security offering for its high-speed Internet customers that will include three software products that protect against online threats.

Philadelphia-based Comcast, the nation's largest broadband provider, is now offering its 7.7 million High-Speed Internet customers three McAfee software products -- VirusScan, Personal Firewall Plus and Privacy Service -- for free. The products are valued at $115.

"We want our customers to have the best broadband Internet experience," Greg Butz, senior vice president of marketing and business development for Comcast Online, said in a statement.
