Intermix buy gets antitrust OK

A Reuters newswire article, via The Washington Post, reports that:

U.S. antitrust authorities said on Monday they had approved plans by media conglomerate News Corp. Ltd. to buy Web site operator Intermix Media for $580 million.

Antitrust officials have completed their investigation of the deal without taking any action, the Federal Trade Commission said in a notice.

News Corp., home to the 20th Century Fox film studio, Britain's Times newspaper and the Fox U.S. television network, in July agreed to buy Intermix Media, owner of the popular MySpace.com social networking site.
