ACS to cut 122 jobs in Austin

Outsourcing powerhouse Affiliated Computer Services Inc. is closing one of its Austin offices.
From Nov. 23 through Dec. 27, the company will lay off all 122 employees at its ACS State and Local Solutions Inc. office at 13640 Briarwick Drive in Northwest Austin.
ACS (NYSE: ACS), based in Dallas, provides outsourced services for government agencies and businesses. It employs more than 700 people in Austin.
The Austin office to be closed houses a government health care group that provides services to the Texas Children's Health Insurance Program, or CHIP, company spokesman Joe Barrett says.
