Australia: Online banking syndicate busted
West Australian police say they have cracked an illegal internet banking syndicate.
They have arrested and charged a 24-year-old computer engineer with more than 30 offences, including 15 counts of stealing and 15 of unlawful access of a computer.
The man, from Highgate, is due to appear in Perth Magistrate's Court on November 1.
More charges are expected to be laid with other suspected members of the syndicate likely to be charged later, Detective Constable Duncan Taylor said today.
He said police had been tracking a gang for the past three months.
