Austin School District Gets $1.7M From Gates Foundation

The Austin Independent School District has received $1.7 million from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, an investment the district says will help redesign 11 high schools to ensure student success.
The school district plans to create smaller learning environments, which it hopes will strengthen curriculum and teaching. It expects to complete the plan during this school year.
