Big Sprint Cable Deal Imminent
Sprint Nextel is expected to announce a deal this week that would make it the single supplier of wholesale wireless bandwidth to the three largest cable operators in the United States: Comcast, Time Warner Cable, and Cox Communications.
The deal has been under discussion for some time, according to a source involved in the talks. But it could take on a new urgency in the light of the Monday’s U.S. Federal Communications Commission approvals of the two major telecommunications mergers.
