FCC Boss Prods Pay TV To Do More on Decency

The U.S. cable and satellite television industry is not doing enough to help parents shield children from inappropriate content, Federal Communications Commission Chairman Kevin Martin said on Tuesday.

He suggested that providers like Comcast Corp. and News Corp.'s DirecTV offer "family-friendly" packages of channels, permit consumers to pay for only the channels they want, or apply decency standards to subscription television.
