DirecTV to Pay $5M to Settle Multi-State Probe

DirecTV Group Inc. agreed to pay $5 million to 21 states to settle an investigation into the top U.S. satellite television operator's marketing and advertising practices, New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer said on Monday.

The company also will pay refunds to thousands of consumers who complained about a variety of problems with their service, Spitzer's office said in a release.
