New Operator of Los Alamos Lab to be Announced Wednesday
Ralph K.M. Haurwitz writes in The Austin American-Statesman:
The University of Texas System will find out Wednesday whether it will have a hand in the operation of the Los Alamos National Laboratory.
U.S. Department of Energy Secretary Samuel Bodman is scheduled to announce the winner of the nuclear weapons lab's operating contract at a news conference in Washington.
A team that includes the UT System and Lockheed Martin Corp. is competing against one led by the University of California and Bechtel National Inc.
