A special Lance Armstrong computer issued by two tech giants with local ties has generated more than $2 million for the cyclist's nonprofit foundation.

The Livestrong notebook PC, issued by Advanced Micro Devices Inc. and Hewlett-Packard Co., came out last year. The companies donate $50 from every purchase to Armstrong's cancer survivorship foundation.

Because of the notebook's success, the companies have extended its availability through June 2006. Some retailers said entire shipments of the computers have sold out in a few hours.
