Breakup Talk Swirls Around Tele2

Pan-European service provider Tele2 AB is the focus of Europe's telecom M&A attention today following its 2005 results and analyst buzz about a potential breakup of the company, which has more than 30 million customers in 23 countries.

The Swedish firm isn't the only operator under scrutiny, as talk of a bid for Eircom Ltd. resurfaces, and mobile operator 3 Italia still has an IPO in sight.
