GigaBeam Releases 2.7-Gbps Wireless Links

A UPI news brief, via PhysOrg, reports that:


GigaBeam has unveiled [.pdf] wireless fiber links it says reach the current licensed speed of 2.7 Gigabits per second.

The Virginia company's WiFiber G-2.7 series can be configured for a number of wireless networks, including Internet Protocol, High-Definition Television and data storage access.

The units themselves are designed for outdoor use with virtual 100-percent availability at up to 3 miles, regardless of weather.
