U.S. Army Awards Iraq Communications Contract

The Army has awarded DRS Technologies Inc. of Parsippany, N.J., a $222 million contract to provide an integrated, open-standards communications infrastructure for the Multi-National Force-Iraq.

The two-year contract, called the Command and Control Information Technology Infrastructure (C2ITI) program, calls for DRS to supply program management, architectural design, engineering, installation, operation and maintenance, network management, and systems administration support to MNF-I. Working with the Iraqi government, MNF-I provides security and aid to reconstruction efforts.
