Tony Li Joins Vyatta Board

I've written about Vyatta before [here]. A few old friends from Cisco are apparently involved.

Om Malik writes on his Next Generation blog:

Router guru and networking industry veteran, Tony Li, has joined the board of advisors of Vyatta, an open source router company I had written about earlier, here and for Business 2.0 magazine.

This is quite a coup for the tiny company, since Li is widely regarded as one of the smartest guys in routing, having worked at Cisco and Juniper Networks. He was working on his own start-up, Portola Networks alongside former Procket executive Vito Palermo, but now his bio says he is working as Software Architect for Tropos Networks.

Whatever happened to Portola?
