AOL Buys Chat Provider Userplane

Via Reuters.

Time Warner Inc. on Monday said its AOL online unit has acquired Userplane, a provider of Web-based chat and instant messaging services.

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

Userplane and its 12 employees will continue to be based in the Los Angeles area.
