Apple Issues 'Critical' Security Fixes for QuickTime

Apple Inc. has released "critical" fixes for flaws in its QuickTime media player that could let attackers hijack or crash computers running Windows or Mac OS X operating systems.

In a security advisory issued Monday, the company said that a if a person opened a specially crafted file in QuickTime version 7.1.5, it would allow a malicious individual to seize control of a targeted computer.
