Ex-Homeland Security CIO To Head Up IT At American Red Cross

Eric Chabrow writes on InformationWeek that:

Steve Cooper, who last week left his job as the first CIO of the Department of Homeland Security, began a new post Monday as CIO and senior VP at the American Red Cross.

Cooper reports to Red Cross president and CEO Marsha Evans.

His experience overseeing IT at a large enterprise with responsibilities that include responding to emergencies makes him well qualified for his new job, a Red Cross spokeswoman says.
