Russia’s Largest Mobile Operator MTS Buys Slice of Turkmen Market From U.S. Company
Russia’s largest mobile operator Mobile TeleSystems said on Monday, June 27, that it has bought a slice of Turkmenistan’s embryonic mobile market from a U.S. firm which operates there.
MTS paid $28.05 million for a 51 percent stake in Barash Communications Technologies Inc and has the right to buy the remainder in eight months for up to $26.95 million, Reuters reported, quoting the company’s statement.
