CSC grabs outsourcing contracts, awaits potential buyer

Michael Cooney writes in NetworkWorld:

Computer Sciences Corp. continued to gussy itself up this week with two major outsourcing contracts worth millions.

Published reports say the outsourcing services company is on the block and could be sold for some $12 billion to Lockheed Martin and a group of private equity investors at any moment. This is despite reports yesterday that the deal may have hit a snag over the weekend. Most observers say the deal is still imminent and CSC's stock continued to rise this week after the negotiation hitch was revealed.

Meanwhile the company continued to add to its war chest, announcing it had won a $51 million contract to IT management services for the Department of Defense's Transportation Command. The group provides air, land and sea transportation for the DoD.
