Blogs Helping Austin Police Crack Cases

When it comes to solving abductions, homicides and cases of missing people, more and more police officers are surfing the Internet.

"It's become standard procedure almost to start looking people up on these Web log sites," Child Abuse Investigations Detective Joel Pridgeon said.

Point and click. It's a method Austin police have started using when it comes to solving certain cases.

"We've had suspects give away what location they are going to be hiding out at for a few weeks. We've had victims give away information on blogs that they haven't told detectives," Pridgeon said.
