Sailors Privacy Data Found on Web has Katrina Link

An AP newswire article, via Yahoo! News, reports that:

Some of the Navy sailors and families whose personal data was discovered last week on a civilian Web site had been affected by Hurricane Katrina, the Navy said Monday.

Navy officials also said the names, birth dates and Social Security numbers of more than 30,000 individuals had been disclosed — a bit higher than the 28,000 estimated last Friday when the breach was first revealed. The sailors involved were stationed in the Southern U.S. during the hurricane.
