Australia: Telstra Picks Amdocs, Sun for Operations Support Contracts

Telstra is set to hand US-based Amdocs the biggest slice of its new operations support services project, estimated to cost between $300 million and $400 million. It is the final big part of its network overhaul.

The telco also inked a fresh deal with Sun Microsystems worth tens of millions of dollars to provide banks of computer servers to run its expanding internet operations, sources said.

Telstra operations chief Greg Winn is in the midst of trying to rationalise the duplicated systems inside the company to make the telco's operations more efficient.
