Top Pentagon Homeland Official Stepping Down

The top U.S. Department of Defense official responsible for the military's response to terrorism in the United States has told colleagues he will step down before February next year.

Assistant Secretary of Defense for Homeland Defense Paul McHale has told colleagues he "Just wants to do something else" after four years in the post, a senior Pentagon official told United Press International.
