Pennsylvania Coroner Charged with Giving Reporters 911 Center Password

An AP newswire article by Mark Scolforo, via PhillyBurbs.com, reports that:

A county coroner was charged Monday with illegally giving newspaper reporters a password to access the emergency 911 system's confidential Web site and conspiring with the reporters to commit computer crime.

The Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office charged G. Gary Kirchner, 73, a physician and Lancaster County's elected coroner, following an investigation that involved searching four computer hard drives in the newsroom of the Lancaster Intelligencer Journal.

Prosecutors said five of the paper's reporters testified to the grand jury after being granted immunity from prosecution.
